The Young Artists program at Back Stage Dance Center is designed for dancers ages 9–12 who are ready to strengthen their technique, build confidence, and continue growing creatively in a supportive environment.

Located in Killingworth, Connecticut, our youth dance classes serve families from Clinton, Madison, Westbrook, Essex, Deep River, Old Saybrook, Guilford, and communities throughout the Connecticut Shoreline.

This stage of dance education focuses on developing strong technical foundations while encouraging individuality, creativity, teamwork, and performance skills.

Building Strong Technical Foundations

The goal of the Young Artists program is to help students strengthen the technical skills needed for continued growth in dance.

Our experienced instructors guide dancers through technique development, performance skills, improvisation, musicality, and creative expression, while also encouraging confidence building and teamwork in a positive and motivating environment.

Students are challenged appropriately while being supported both technically and personally.

Young Artists dancers have the opportunity to explore a variety of dance styles, including:
